Pairing: Neville/Luna
Prompt: Harmonica
"Go on," said Luna, her eyes watching Neville dreamily. "It's such great fun and it will clear your head of all those bad thoughts."
Neville's eyes flicked from the harmonica in Luna's outstretched hand to her face and the dazed smile gracing her cheeks.
"How did you know?" he asked. He hadn't spoken to anyone about the issues at home.
"Your eyes," said Luna as she pressed the harmonica gently into his hands.
Neville wrapped his fingers around it. Why not, he reasoned. What was wrong with playing some music, having a little fun. It wasn't like anything bad was going to happen, although he doubted anything good would come of it either.
He lifted it to his lips and blew softly. No sound came out and yet Luna was... dancing?
"Keep playing," she whispered, her hair glimmering in the sunlight.
So Neville kept playing the silent tune.
His back felt lighter, as if something had been physically lifted from him. He handed the harmonica back to Luna.
"Thank you," he said.
"Keep it," Luna replied, leaning over and dropping a kiss on his forhead. "You need it more than I do."
He watched her float away, a leaf on the breeze.
