He was loud and hot-headed.
She was always shy and silent.
Besides which they were both guardians with duties. They would be terrible together. And yet that stupid woman had the gall to suggest that they would make the perfect couple! How absurd!
The next time he saw her though, he paused a moment longer than necessary before Uri nipped him in the shin. She was impatient to be fed.
"I know I know, stupid cat. You're going to get too fat to fight at this rate," he grumbled even as she clawed him in protest. He charged up his ring and bent to feed the impatient box animal.
He was grateful, if a little irritated, at the distraction.
Either that stupid woman's notions might not be so stupid as he had thought or else he was becoming as stupid as she was.
