The boy leant out and grabbed the girl just above her hip. He brought her back close to him.
"Potter, let me go right now!" groaned Lily. Her emerald eyes glaring daggers back at the boy. He stood about a foot above her. His hair was wild, standing up on end each hair pointing out on a different angle. His hazel eyes shone with pride and glee through his black rimmed oval glasses that were sitting on the bridge of his nose.
"Ahh Lily. I have a name other than Potter you know. If you don't call me James I will be forced to tickle you!" he said, his lips curving into a slight grin. He looked down onto the girl, her auburn hair glistening in the moonlit hallways of Hogwarts. As she opened her mouth to speak James decided she had taken too long to respond so continued "okay, too slow" and began tickling her.
Lily threw her head back in laughter. As James tickled her, Lily's breathing became heavier and shorter. She was taking in shorter, deeper breaths trying to sustain her body's needs.
"NO PLEASE, STOP" Lily screeched. Knowing he wouldn't stop unless she called him James. "JAAAAAAMES PLEASE!"
"See, was that so hard?" he said, placing her gently back on the floor. Though they were standing millimeters apart, Lily nudged closer to James. She bounced up on to the balls of her feet so their noses touched. She brushed her lips lightly on to James'. Before he could respond, Lily dropped back to her natural height blushing a deep crimson. He had been taken aback by her actions but quickly regained himself as Lily dropped back down and began to turn, James held out his hand quickly yet carefully grasping her arm. He spun her back around to face him whilst saying, "Not so fast missy, you aren't getting away with that and just running off. I'm not letting you go that easily" grinning all the while.
James quite easily lifted Lily off her feet, wrapping his arms around her waist. He felt Lily relax into the embrace and continued kissing her tenderly.
Lily was just as relieved and found her arms making their way up and snaking their way around James' neck. She responded to the kiss with identical enthusiasm as James had.
After what seemed like years, the teenagers reluctantly pulled themselves apart. Both of them beet-red, chests heaving filling their lungs with much needed oxygen.
"I think it's safe to tell you I love you now" smiled James cheekily.
"I would have to agree with you. I love you too" Lily replied still blushing but smiling anyway. With that, James leaned in for another embrace. Lily could feel him smiling into the kiss. This time when they separated James had that mischievous glint in his eye again.
"It's nice to know the feeling's mutual" He chuckled. His laugh was soon joined by that of Lily. She rested her head on James' chest and as they stood there they were not confronted by awkward silence, but still a silence as they both pondered their thoughts of what had happened in the last few moments. It was a comfortable silence. Which was the beginning of a whole new chapter in both of the teenagers' lives.
