When she saw him he appeared unhappy with the guard. He reluctantly stepped into the cell next to hers. He looked emotionally spent and was grasping the bars to stay upright.
She stuck her hands through the bars and placed them over his. "What happened, Captain Apollo?"
Deep blue eyes met hers. They were filled with fear, no, it was regret.
"My father has been shot."
She tried her best to breathe but her world came crashing down.
