Whispers On A Moon Lit Night

The wind blew her hair across her face but she didn't care. She was

thinking about what he had said 'We live to die! What's the point in living at

all?!?' The words pierced the young waterbenders heart.

How could Aang say that? Katara thought to herself. Why would he say that?

"Katara?" a voice asked from behind her, she knew exactly who it was "Katara? Can I talk to you?"

She gave the young air bender no response but simply scooted over a little to let Aang sit down. "Look, Katara, I'm sorry for what I said earlier I never meant it to upset you." After Aang let out a long sigh.

"you know what hurt the most?" Katara asked looking up at the moon.

Aang looked at her then asked softly."What?" Katara shifted her gaze from the moon and on to him and sighed sadly.

"After you said that I remembered 3 months ago , in Ba Sing Se, after I saw you get hit with the lightning the only thing I was thinking was that we live to die and that there's no point in fighting anymore." She paused and looked at the moon and back. His stormy grey eyes locked on her blue ones.

After she continued, "but I realized there was one thing worth living for." After she looked out over the lake they were by then back at him again.

Aang looked at her then asked quietly "What?" He was starring at her but she had looked back up at the sky above.

After a minute of silence she spoke up, still not looking at him though, "Love, love is the only thing worth living for anymore."

Aang looked at her shocked then asked "w-what d-did you s-say? Love?" Katara finally looked at him and spoke up again at last.

"Yes, Aang, Love is the only thing worth living for anymore." She stared at him through piercing blue eyes then said looking up at the moon again "After I saw you get hit, I practically died, but I didn't know why."

Aang noticed Katara had shut her eyes but she continued. "Slowly I realized why, I had fallen in love with you, Aang." By now Aang had gone speechless, as she opened her eyes again and looked at him.

"You-you love--?" His eyes grew wide as his cheeks turned a rosy color when Katara slowly nodded.

Katara sighed and looked down then back at him. Then said "I'm sorry, you probably don't like me, like I do you, but--." She was cut off though by Aang pressing his lips to hers in the sweetest of kisses.

Her eyes grew wide. Aang broke apart and said softly "I love you to, Katara."
