They only said he would be going to camp for a little while. They also said that the camp didn't have anything electronic. And even if he were to bring his laptop, there would be no service.
Surprisingly, they were wrong, despite the fact that adults were normally almost always right. Even though, like they predicted, he had no connection for his laptop, everything else wasn't true. He was surrounded by technology and probably was it at this point. Along with that, he wasn't at camp. And even if this did count as camp, he was sure that this didn't count as a little while.
If Izzy had known camp was like this, he would've signed up years ago. Because there were no boring social meetings, no one to force him to make friends with people he didn't want to make friends with, and no one limiting the amount of knowledge he could gain from the entire situation. It was paradise, essentially.
Expect for the fact that it really wasn't paradise. Creatures were dying everywhere he went, shelter was hard to find, and occasionally, food supplies consisted of just a single apple. Sometimes even less.
And occasionally, he would meet up with the other people that were here and have to share his findings. That never delighted Izzy in the slightest.
"Izzy, I believe we're reaching the end," Tentomon said, distracting Izzy from his thought process. Out of everyone he ran into in this place, Tentomon was the one thing he was actually delighted to talk to. It especially helped when there were days that everything seemed grim.
"Surely we cannot, Tentomon. There's land up ahead."
At least, what looked like land. He couldn't exactly tell if blackness was meant to be an area just unidentified or something else.
"It isn't land, Izzy. It's a Digi-Wasteland!"
"Caused by what?"
"I expected you to have the answer, actually."
But he didn't have the answer. Because this was their first time seeing this. And there really was nowhere to go.
Maybe now was a good enough time to rest. Rest as in trying to piece this puzzle. And maybe not being caught in this digital wasteland. Because he was data, right? And data could get destroyed in this, right?
