I wake with Tobias still sleeping beside me, which is odd because he always wakes before me. It's been about seven months since I pasted initiation, which I ranked first in, just like Tobias. I lay there for about ten minutes until he wakes up.
"Good morning," he whispers in my ear.
"You too," I say smiling.
We both get up and dress into our dauntless clothes. Me, Christina, Will, and Tobias are going to go shopping today, I don't know what we're shopping for, they didn't tell me.
Once we get there Christina is slouching on the wall next to Will. Once Christina sees me she starts smiling. Will and Tobias start off the other way, and Christina and me go the other.
"What are we shopping for?" I ask.
"Oh, just a dress for you, maybe some shoes," says Christina.
she's a really bad liar, well, she was a transfer from Candor, . I know there's something going on she hasn't told me.
"Why?" I ask.
"I don't know, just because." Christina says shrugging.
Once we (by we, I mean Christina) picks out the "perfect dress" as she describes it, we go to look for Tobias and Will. The dress is a black one (of course) nothing really that fancy.
We find them in the pit, walking away from the little jewelry store in the corner, not many people go in there. Tobias has this little smirk on his mouth, like he is happy, yet embarrassed.
Christina insisted I wear my new dress she picked out, she says "you'll understand later" so I don't argue. Ounce I'm finished with my hamburger Tobias leans in and whispers "follow me"
He gets up and walks out, of course I follow him. He takes me down the little path that leads down to the bottom of the chasm. We sit on the rocks holding hands until he stands up in front of me, and kneels on one knee.
All I can think right now is, is he really going to do what I think he is?
"Um, Tris, I was wandering, well um, I really think we should, you know, um," he pauses "will you marry me?"
Now it all makes sense, I do get it now. Christina had me buy the dress so I could look my best tonight. Will and Tobias must've went to buy a ring, it must have taken so many dauntless points. The ring has a small diamond with gold holding it in place. I must have been quiet to long because his nervous smile went away.
"well, I think we should start planning our wedding." I say smirking. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him, for a long time it seems, it seems like I kissed him forever until he finally pulls away.
"I love you" I say
"I love you too" Tobias says
