"Doctor, BRING HIM BACK!"

"I can't do that Amy.."

"What do you mean, you can't? What's the use of having a time machine if you can't go back and change things?!"

"Amy, you know it doesn't work like that.."

"I don't want to live without Rory, just bring him back! Please.."

Amy went from anger to sadness in a second and fell down on the ground sobbing. The Doctor wasn't sure what to do at first, but eventually he sat down next to the usually so fierce girl, and put his arms around her. They sat there, both mourning the man they'd lost, and The Doctor knew that this time, it was for good. Rory wasn't coming back.

"Take me home."

The Doctor wasn't sure if he'd imagined it or not.

"Doctor, I want to go home. Now. Take me home."

He understood, and stood up to set the TARDIS on a course back to Leadworth. Once they'd landed, Amy rushed out into the garden. She opened the front door, and stepped inside. Still in the doorway she turned around, finding The Doctor right behind her.

"Please go."

"What?"

"Doctor, I want you to leave."

"Are you sure Amy? I don't think you should be alone right-"

"Well guess what, I am alone! I'll be alone for the rest of my life thanks to you, so please go and don't come back!"

"You don't mean that.."

"I do. Goodbye Doctor."

Amy closed the door on her oldest friend, only to start packing. This was their house, she couldn't live here. Not without Rory.

The Doctor slowly walked back to the TARDIS. He figured that Amy would call Brian who would probably come over. Even though he knew he should, The Doctor couldn't bear the thought of facing Rory's dad. He'd promised him to keep his son safe, and he hadn't lived up to that. There was no doubt that Brian would share Amy's anger and blame the only one who could be blamed. As he set the TARDIS to coordinates far away from the humans that were so dear to him, he cried. The Doctor cried over everyone he'd hurt and everyone he'd lost. He cried over being selfish enough to bring the lovely, fragile humans with him, knowing that they were likely to suffer from it in the end. And The Doctor cried over Amy and Rory, now both forever gone from his life.
