"Last Night Here"
Fingertips
Brushing lightly across
The ivory keys.
The notes float
Softly to my ears.
That same song,
Just once more.
I look up
With a flutter of my lashes
Over my soft brown eyes.
As my fingers dance across the notes,
I see you sitting there.
You are always there.
But this time,
You move to stand
And walk to the piano.
You wave to me,
Placing your shy eyes on
My blushing face.
Did you know that I had mine on you?
Your midnight hair
Falls to cover your face,
And you turn and walk back
To your table
At this tiny little bar.
Fingertips
Brushing lightly across
The ivory keys.
The notes float
Softly to my ears.
That same song,
Just once more.
I look up
With a flutter of my lashes
Over my soft brown eyes.
As my fingers dance across the notes,
I see you sitting there.
You are always there.
But this time,
You move to stand
And walk to the piano.
You wave to me,
Placing your shy eyes on
My blushing face.
Did you know that I had mine on you?
Your midnight hair
Falls to cover your face,
And you turn and walk back
To your table
At this tiny little bar.
