Summary: Buffy and the gang have been fighting this gang of demons that are un-killable since the beginning of season seven. Amongst them have been vampires, who killed vamped Willow, Xander and Tara. The un-killables killed Anya soon afterward, and Buffy and Spike had to dust their remaining vamp friends. But not before Tara got to Dawn. Buffy had to dust her sister after a prolonged fight that included tears and a "This is for Dawn!". Now, Buffy and Spike, the only remaining Scoobies, are surrounded by the fiends that killed their friends.

*A/N* Buffy has been trying to keep away from Spike and her feelings just like after Wrecked and Gone. Also, try and get the Angel/Buffy love theme in your head during this. It makes you cry, I swear. *tear*

They were surrounded.

Buffy couldn't help it. She cried. She sobbed. She buried her face in Spike's shoulder.

Her family. Her friends. Her mother. They were all gone. She was totally alone now except for the only one who had ever made her feel alive.

"Buffy, oh god, Buffy." she heard his voice muffled. He sounded like he was just as upset as she was. But she wasn't surprised.

Then he jerked. Buffy looked down at his chest and gasped. There was an arrow sticking out of his chest.

He gasped in for breath, and she exhaled loudly. It had missed his heart-but barely.

"Buffy" he breathed as he started to slump to the ground. She pulled him down slowly and he looked at her tearstained face.

"Buffy, I'm sorry for everything, and everyone.....I'm sorry I didn't protect them."

"You tried. I tried. It was just no use." Buffy bit her lip, terrified that she was going to cry again.

"Buffy......if anything happens to me.....I want you to know that I love you. And...for everything that's happened in the past....I want you to remember me. The way I am now. The way that I love you and turned my beast inside into a soul because of it. I want you to always remember me like this...no other way except this. Promise me." he choked. His duster had been tinted a shiny red now.

Buffy was crying.

"I'm sorry too-"

Then her eyes widened at something behind them. Before Spike could respond, she shifted so that she was sitting where he had been and he was where she had been.

She jolted and closed her eyes.

She'd been hit.

As the blood poured down her left side, he held her to him.

She looked up at him, her eyes shining. Blood was forming at her mouth as she parted her lips to utter four words.

"I love you, Spike."

Then she closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder. Motionless.

Spike held her tight and felt a tear drip down his cheek and onto her white sweater.

And he waited.

"I think I need a hug!"
