I See You

I'm sitting across from you

I'm dreaming of the things I'd do

I don't speak

You don't know me at all

For fear of what you might do

I say nothing but stare at you

And I'm dreaming

I'm trippin' over you

The saviour of the Wizarding World sat alone in a corner table in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. He was observing the people in the room, slowly smoking a cigarette.

Everyone was merry, acting like they had no problems in the world, but for Harry the battle had never ended. The war had left wounds that would never heal.

It had been three years since the war, but it felt like yesterday. After Dumbledore's death Harry had joined forces with the Potions Master and trained hard with him to defeat The Dark Lord.

Being in such a close contact with the snarky professor for months had left him permanently damaged. He would never forget.. Could not..

Could it be you fell for me?

And any possible similarity

If it's all, how would I know?

You never knew me at all but I see you

He looked at the man.

Severus Snape, the bastard extraordinaire. Why Harry had fell for him, he couldn't fathom.

Snape was standing in the middle of the hall, engaged in a conversation with a tall blonde man.

Draco Malfoy.

Of course it had to be a Malfoy…

He could never compete with that.

Harry snorted and took a sip of his firewhiskey.

I see you

I see you

Everyone had abandoned him.

On the day he defeated Voldemort, people had celebrated him, the Ministry had given him the Order of Merlin and a pat on the back.

Even The Prophet had written something nice, compared to the usual shit they gave him.

But that was then. The only owls he received nowadays were from the Ministry, inviting him to events such as this.

He wasn't sure why he felt so hurt, because nobody had ever really cared about him, they had loved the Boy-Who-Lived.

But for a moment he had dared to hope…

Truth be told

My problems old

You mean the world to be but you'll never know

You could be cruel to me

While we're risking the way that I see you

Harry sighed and stumped his cigarette. He had to get out of this place.

Too much noise, too many painful memories.

Him

He started walking for the door without saying a word to anyone. He took a last glance at the man he loved, unconsciously mouthing a 'Goodbye'.

I'm standing across from you

I've dreamt alone, now the dreams won't do

Harry made his way through the courtyard and to the bridge. He climbed on the other side of the railing, grabbing it from behind.

He closed his eyes and inhaled the fresh august air of Hogwarts for the last time. He grinned lopsidedly when a tear escaped the corner of his eye. This is it.

Leaning forward he slowly let go.
