Hey ho, first fanfic! I have written on FictionPress for a while now, but am new to writing on fanfic.
This is about a future Link.
It will hopefully turn out to be a horror story, but we'll see. I write without planning, so it just happens. sometimes good, sometimes better.
And sometimes crap.
Some say I'm a hero. Others say I'm a murderer, and still others think I'm a thief. Truth is, I am all and none of these. I have saved nations, rescued princesses, and slain evil. I have needlessly slaughtered millions of wild animals, risked lives of innocents on certain occasions, and ruined people's careers. I have stolen from people's pots and crates, and taken the money or rare rejuvenating hearts. Some could call me a cannibal, for eating hearts I find laying around, healing or not.
If every sin I committed put a black dot on my conscious, my conscious would have to be stretched beyond the limits of the imagination to fit them all. But, if I removed one of those dots for every virtuous deed, I would be just as I started.
Sadly things aren't as simple as that. I remember more sins than virtues, like it or not. My nights are sleepless, the little rest I get relying on drugs to knock me unconscious.
Who caused these sins? She did. If not for me, the land would be in ruins. If not for her, I would not have saved the world. If not for her, I wouldn't have killed, tortured and maimed innocent animals. For generations they have tormented us, saying it's for the "greater good". For generations they have convinced us that we are in the right, and they are monsters. But what is a monster, but a misunderstood predator? They kill because they know no better. We can't expect them to starve purely for our morals and egos.
No, it is time someone stood up for them. Someone who knows the opposition, but doesn't wish to destroy both sides. I must atone for my sins, the Goddess favours life, not the trading of another life for yours. Killing in defence is one thing, but seeking them out…that is murder.
Murder.
