A Talk, No A Lecture

Disclaimer: I do not own the turtles, nor do I profit from this apart from the occasional pat on the back for a job well done.

I can't believe it. Not even two seconds after I make my announcement, Leo pulls me aside for a talk in my room. More like a lecture.

"Mikey, are you sure about this?" He asks using the "are-you-sure-you-know-what-you're-doing-because-I-REALLY-don't want-another-incident-like-last-time" voice.

"Yeah bu-"

"This is a serious issue Mikey," Leo cuts me off.

I don't see how it can really be that serious.

"Do you realise that this means another mouth to feed?" Leo asks, as if I'm stupid. "We haven't exactly got money floating around the lair for this type of thing. You might have to get a job or something to get money for him. We may not be able to support him."

"I know but I mean, he's not exactly big," I tell him. "He won't need much."

"He's not now, but he's going to get bigger isn't he?" Leo states.

"He's just a-"

"It's going to be your responsibility, no one else's," he continues, undeterred. "You're going to have to feed him, bathe him, and teach him and everything. I never thought we would have a third generation in this household. Splinter, the four of us, and now this!"

Great - now he's in a rant. How is it that Raph can normally cut him off by now and stop him from getting fired up? There is nothing I can do about it now. I sit down on my bed, hoping it won't last long.

"You couldn't have put him up for adoption or something?" He asks me.

My mouth drops open. I pick up the sleeping kitten, which I've decided to name Klunk, off my bed and hold him up to Leo. "How could up put him up for adoption?"

I didn't think taking in a stray cat would cause so much fuss.
