Introduction

~Flashback~

"1...2...3..."

"Sorry...This spot is taken."

"Gomen."

"Sorry..!"

"There's no where else to hide!" 5 year old Reika said to herself in her head.

Her fairly short, pig-tailed chocolate brown hair bounced as she ran to find another hiding spot.

"Oh..! Behind that tree!"

Reika looked behind a tree that was a bit bigger than the rest of the trees surrounded by a patch of grass near the playground.

There was a young boy about her age.

"7...8...9..."

"Hey um.. do you mind of I hide here too? I'll just be behind you. I don't know where else to hide and...Anyways thanks!"

"10! Ready or not here I come!" Young Sakura said outloud for everyone to hear.

"I didn't even say that you could hide here..." Little Sasuke whispered underneath his breath.

"Gomen."

"Well, the only person who I couldn't find was Sasuke-kun, so..," Sakura said.

"Sasuke, you can come out now! You win!" Kiba cut off Sakura and yelled outloud this time.

Sasuke comes out of the same big tree he was hiding in before and everyone on the playground looks towards his way.

"You were there the whole time? That was an easy hiding spot." Ino replied.

"Huh? But wasn't Reika-chan hiding there?" Sakura said to herself.

"Well, Sasuke wins this time," outloud.

"Oh, c'ya guys! I see my parents!" Choji exclaimed.

"Bye!"

"No one came to pick you up yet either, huh?

"...No."

Reika and Sasuke were the only ones left that needed to be picked up from school.

"..Why did you do that?"

"Hm? Do what?"

"You let yourself get found out like that by running from your hiding spot."

"It wasn't really my hiding spot you know. It was yours."

"..."

"..."

Silence continued between them. Reika continued to swing on the swing and Sasuke continued to kneel and scrape the dirt floor with a stick.

"..."

"Weird."

"..Yeah..I get that a lot."

"Huh?"

"I get that a lot."

"I was talking about what you did earlier.."

"Oh. Well, my name is Reika by the way."

"..Reika?"

"Yeah. What's yours?"

"Sasuke."

Rekai jumps off the swing to walk towards Sasuke. Sasuke lifts his head up to see a smiling Reika and her right hand out.

"Nice to meet you, Sasuke."

Sasuke then slowly gets up to shake her hand.

"You too.."

"Oh, my parents are here."

"..."

"Thanks! Truth is, you're my first friend here!" Reika yells as she waves 'Goodbye' to Sasuke.

Before she was out of his sight with her parents, Sasuke waved a 'Goodbye' back.

From then on Reika and Sasuke were considered friends. Sasuke didn't show it much, since he distanced himself from others. It was because of what happened to his clan that was massacred. It was understandable to her. Although, as time passed, Reika did meet more friends, even Naruto. It was the opposite from Sasuke. Reika was distanced from him from others around her. In the end, Reika treated everyone equally. She saw Sasuke more, though, since he was one of the last ones to get picked up after school like her. That's when they talked the most and became closer as friends.

As months passed, Sasuke had came to realize that he smiled more when she was with him. Reika made him feel like the cheerful boy he was before his whole family had died. Not just someone who's job is to get revenge on his older brother, Itachi, the person who had massacred his whole clan with his own bare hands.

Until...She was gone too. Reika disappeared just like that without a single word. Without a 'Goodbye'.
