A/N: 500 words. Remus is a professor. Sirius is his student. Professor AU Oneshot.

Remus stared nervously at his hands, avoiding Dumbledore's piercing stare. Next to him, Sirius showed no sign of uncertainty, sprawling across his chair brashly. "I have called you both in here today because of a complaint," Dumbledore said. His voice betrayed nothing of what he was thinking. "A few students have written to me about your relationship."

Remus reddened. Dumbledore forged on, ignoring his discomfort. "They are suspicious that you two are closer than advisable. Objections? Are they mistaken? Are the two of you not in a romantic relationship?"

Remus stayed quiet and Sirius shook his head no. They had both agreed beforehand that in the case of getting caught, they wouldn't deny their affection for each other. A glimmer in Dumbledore's eyes made Remus feel that they had made the right choice.

"I believe that the primary concern here is favoritism," Dumbledore said smoothly. "Sirius, have you ever used your relationship with Professor Lupin to bolster your grades?"

"Of course not!" Sirius said, aghast. "In fact, Professor Lupin needlessly marks me down to make sure that he isn't accused of favoritism!"

This was so unfair that Remus protested,"I do not!" he said. "I grade your schoolwork just like I grade everyone else's work!"

Dumbledore smiled kindly, "That is not for you to decide, Remus. Tell me, what made you feel this way, Sirius?"

"James always gets a few points higher than me!" Sirius said dramatically. "Which is unfair because we work together, and our essays are very similar."

"I am aware that you two copy each others' work," Remus snapped, "but James's essay is devoid of all meaningless commentary."

Dumbledore stepped in in once more. "Meaningless commentary? What commentary?"

Remus flushed red in embarrassment.

Sirius grinned. He winked lewdly at the now very uncomfortable professor.

"Sirius has been writing some inappropriate comments throughout his essays," Remus muttered reluctantly. "I've been taking some points off because they had no relevant connection to the essay topics."

"They are related to the essay topics," Sirius protested vigorously, "I see injustice here!"

"Sirius," Remus snapped, "The comment Wanna shag? is not related in any way to Describe the importance of pronunciation when using defensive spells of a foreign origin."

"Fine," Sirius huffed. "I still don't see why you took two points for it, you usually only take one."

"Well," Remus said in his "teacher voice", "not only was your comment inappropriate, irrelevant, and slightly offensive, it was also incorrect grammatically. You should have used the words want to; wanna is not a word. Also, shag is slang, and you know that I disapprove of slang use in essays."

Sirius gave him an exasperated look. "Fine," he growled. "Next time, I'll write: Professor Lupin, do you want to have sexual intercourse with me after class?"

Remus suddenly realized that Dumbledore was in the room. "Er..."

"Well then," Dumbledore said happily, "I think that if you two hold off your relationship until Sirius graduates, I see no reason for Remus to lose his job."
