Dangerous love

The sunrays fall on his face. Waking him. It was an uneasy slumber anyway.
Slowly he turns his head towards the window. Tired eyes catch the blue sky and some white clouds.
He longs to be there. Outside. It doesn't even have to be on the courts. Just being out of this building. It's enough for the moment.

He turns his head when he hears the door open.
It lights his mood when he sees his boyfriend walk in. The usual smile on his face. His eyes, of course, closed. It's a shame really. He has such beautiful blue eyes.

-

"So… I take it you guys won…"
It wasn't a question. It was a statement. There had been nothing on his boyfriend's face, nothing in the way he acts, that has betrayed it. Yet Yukimura had known, immediately, when the other one walked inside his room.

The eyes that open slightly, revealing thin lines of blue, are the only sign that show he has surprised him. It also is the only answer Rikkai's buchou needs.

"Can you give me the glass of water please… My throat is as dry as the Sahara…"
A soft chuckle. He knows it is understood.

-

"Syu… Do you think they will pass by?"
The hand that holds his squeezes gently. It makes Yukimura turn back to his lover.
"Of course they will. They care for you way to much to be scared of a scolding."
It makes the buchou smile and Fuji knows that, even though there was no reason to be scared, he is relieved by his answer.

The tensai knows that Sanada and the others will shortly arrive. So he stands up and prepares himself to leave. After all, he had promised him… And he will never break a promise to his lover.

-

"Can you stay?"
It is the second time in the thirty minutes he is there that Yukimura manages to surprise him.
He had agreed on keeping their relation silent. For his boyfriend wasn't ready for everyone to know about it. After all, he is a Seigaku player, dating Rikkai's buchou…

He can hear their voices on the hallway, and he casts a quick look to his lover. He is still sitting next to him. And Yukimura surprises him once more when he feels slim fingers take his hand. Their smiles match.

The door opens. Silence falls. And it is fragile.

-

'I won't let you win Niou. I won't…
I know you hate me for loving your captain. I know you are strong. But imposing other players won't be enough to defeat me.'

He can feel the intense gaze of Yukimura fixed on their game. He isn't as selfish to think the gaze is meant only for him.

It is good to finally see his boyfriend in Rikkai colours again. To finally see him standing proud before his team again. To finally see him on the courts again.

He had been surprised when they played a sparring match some weeks ago.

-

He won. Quickly he steals a glance towards Rikkai's bench. And for less than a second he could have sworn he saw a smile gracing Yukimura's lips. It has disappeared before he truly registered it though. But it was enough.

After his defeat against Shiraishi this victory felt so good.
Soon… Soon he would play. Finally again. After so long.
Both of them longed for that match. Fuji always enjoyed watching Yukimura play. Because he is the strongest player of High School.

And it doesn't matter if Echizen remembers in time. He can never win against the Child of God…

-

His eyes are closed. Echizen battled well… He truly did.
An encouraging smile graces the tensai's lips when he places a hand on their freshman's shoulder. His courage and will to win had been amazing, however, it wasn't enough to defeat Rikkai's buchou, the strongest high school tennis player.

Looking aside his eyes meet his lover's. A single nod. It is easily understood.
I love you…
Turning his head to the other side, his gaze is met by Tezuka's. And Fuji knows that his buchou knows.
He smiles and a nod is his answer. It's all the acceptance he needs.

The End
