Naruto lay on the slightly damp grass with his feet propped up in the air. The warm summer breeze blew the grass gently, the individual pieces dancing against the dark blue sky. Sasuke felt at peace in the moment as his own hair swayed along to the whispers of the wind.
The two stayed there until a bright blinding light began to appear over the tops of the trees and buildings in the village.
Sasuke sighed in contempt as he heard the distant chattering of the city as it began to bustle in the early morning. He could see the silhouettes of villagers against the brilliant sun and smelled whiffs of something sweet that appeared to be cooking nearby.
A cold breeze drifted over the two boys, with the blonde adolescent shivering slightly as the cold air filled his lungs.
Black eyes glanced over and narrowed slightly with a scowl appearing on his lips as he scooted closer to the idiot with blonde tousled hair just like the sun during its descent into the base of the earth and its arrival each morning.
He felt Naruto slightly tense as their arms brushed against each other and Sasuke himself felt shivers run down his body. Hesitantly, and with an awkward cough, Naruto linked their hands together as he furiously blushed, looking down towards the neighbouring village.
The raven-haired blinked slowly and whipped his head towards the dobe. With a slight smirk, the male released his firm grasp and placed his arm over the boy beside him.
They stayed there, late into the morning, until Naruto realized that they would receive a great scolding, from the pink-haired kunoichi.
The two boys ended up arriving at the training field even later than Kakshi-sensei, with Sakura stifling a chuckle and their sensei giving them a blank one-eyed stare before he gave them the instructions for their morning training. Naruto grinned cheerfully while Sasuke hid a tiny smile of his own, before they began their spar.
All the villagers could hear in the distance was a slight rumble before a great yell of RASENGAN.
