Rain was pouring down, driving the humans from the streets and into their shelters.

A lone white cat sat dripping on the pier, unmindful of the rain battering down on her. Her fur, once long and full and purest white, now clung to her figure in thick mats and fell into her eyes in scraggly clumps, but she paid it no heed.

There would be no moon tonight. She was shielding herself from the sadness below with a thick veil of clouds.

The sky itself was crying...

The white queen looked into the sea below the pier, and in the midst of the raindrops saw the face of the one she had once loved.

She reached out...

She could not reach the water.

Sadly, she watched as his face sank into the gray-blue abyss.

Tears fell from her eyes, tears for the one she had loved. They mingled with the tears of the sky, and fell into the cold gray waves below.

"Goodbye, my love," she murmured, turning her face toward the unforgiving sky, letting her memories fade away into the silent sea.

A faint smile graced her lips as she turned back for shore.
