Jonathan of Conte smiled as he thought of his one true love, his Alanna of Trebond and Olau. He was remembering her smile, her confidence, the way she made him feel so happy every time she was near, when he remembered the worst day of his life, the day that had ended it all~ the day they fought.
She said I took her for granted
That's the last thing I would do
I guess I should have told her
I thought she knew...
The prince sighed with grief. He had said things to her that he never would have even thought of saying had he not been so frustrated.
"Frustrated or not," he said to himself. "I did say those things and now I regret it with all my heart. I lost my Lioness."

My world revolved around her
My love light burned for her alone
But she couldn't see the flame
Only myself to blame
I should have known...

Jon's sadness suddenly transformed into pure anger.
"Damn it, Alanna!" he yelled aloud. "For hundreds of years hundreds of women have become queen and they all did a fair job of it and you're better than all of them!"

Suddenly the prince heard a soft knock on his door.
"Son?" Queen Lianne's mild voice was calling him. "Jonathan, there's a young woman I would like you to meet."
"Yes, mother," he answered. Now I'll get my revenge, Jon thought savagely. You'll think I don't care about you anymore, Alanna. You'll realize how stupid your response to me was. You'll realize what a bad choice you made. He left the room and followed his mother down to the grand ballroom. You will regret it, Alanna of Trebond and Olau, was his last thought before meeting the blonde Princess Josiane of the Copper Isles.
