Chapter 1

It was Christmas Eve and Sora was sound asleep in his room along with Ven, Roxas, Vanitas, and Xion. Suddenly there was a rumbling noise. "Hm?", Sora said, opening his eyes. The rumbling got louder.

"What the-?!"

Soon the house started to shake.

It shook so much that Ven fell off his bed.

"OW! What the-? What's going on?!", he said sitting up.

"EARTHQUAKE!", Xion shouted as she jumped off her bed, but slipped and landed face first on the floor.

Outside Sora's window, a light flashed. The shaking and rumbling stopped. Sora quickly threw on his usual black jacket over his white and blue T-shirt and red sweatpants and threw on his shoes and ran out the door.

Xion jumped up and shouted, "Hey wait up!", before throwing on her black jacket over her white T-shirt and black pajama pants and threw on her shoes and followed him. Ven and Roxas exchanged looks.

"Should we follow him?", asked Ven. "We're gonna have to. Don't want him to end up frozen solid, do we?", Roxas asked as he threw on his usual white jacket with the checkered line across it. Ven shrugged and threw on his white and black jacket. Ven was about to run down the stairs when he remembered someone.

"VANI!", he cried as he dashed back to his dark half. "Vani! Vani! Vani! Vani! Get up!"

Vanitas groaned and rolled over to face him. "What?!", he hissed. "There's some kind of weird light outside!", Ven exclaimed. "You've been watching too many horror movies," Vanitas grumbled as he plopped back down. A tick mark appeared on Ventus's head before he grabbed Vanitas, turned his head around, and had him face the window.

"What the..."

"Come on!", Ven yelled as he darted out of the room.

"Oh, of all the stupid...!", Vanitas groaned as he slipped on his red short sleeved shirt with a black flame pattern on it before trudging down the stairs.

When he stepped out, he stomped down the porch and glared at them. "Guys, this is stupid. Right now, I should be sleeping, but NO! You just had to- what're you staring at?", he asked. He looked up and his jaw dropped.

"Oh."

"Whoa..." Roxas said.

In front of them was a huge train. They heard multiple footsteps and turned to see the rest of the gang running towards them, who were also in their pajamas.

"WHAT THE HECK IS A TRAIN DOING ON DESTINY ISLANDS?!", Lea shouted.

"How should I know?!", Sora retorted.

Riku walked to one of the carts. "It's called the Polar Express," he told them.

"Polar Express?", Roxas repeated.

"ALL ABOOAAARRRD!"

"Huh?"

They turned in the direction the voice came from and saw a figure through the smoke. "ALL ABOOAAARRRD!", the figure shouted again.

They slowly walked towards the figure. A man wearing a blue jacket and blue pants and a blue hat that said 'CONDUCTOR' stood there. He looked at them. "Well... you guys coming?", he asked them.

"Uh... to where?", Terra asked. "Why, to the North Pole of course! This is the Polar Express!", he said, gesturing to the train.

"NORTH POLE?!", Sora shouted excitingly.

"Sora, shut up! My hearing's a little sensitive right now!", Vanitas grumbled as he cleaned his ear with his pinky.

"The North Pole?" Where Santa Claus lives?", Riku asked doubtfully.

"Exactly," the conductor said.

"Well I'm definitely going!", Sora said before hopping on.

"I'm going too. It might be fun," said Kairi before joining Sora.

"If you guys are going, so am I," Namine said also getting on.

Vanitas sighed. "You guys totally owe me for this," he said as he climbed onto the train.

Riku was the only one who did not get on the train yet.

"You comin'?", the conductor asked him. Riku hesitated to answer.

"Suit yourself," he said before signaling the engineers to start moving. As the train began to move, Riku quickly grabbed the bar on the side and hopped in with them. The conductor smiled at him and said, "Welcome aboard."
