Hello everyone! :D
I just discovered that there actually IS a section for this here on - I just noticed ^^; So decided to translate the first fic I wrote for Sekaiichi and post it.
Notes: the story is set immediately after Ritsu goes abroad with his parents, so he's around 15 yeas-old.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but what I wrote.
Ja ne,
Temari :)
Tanabata
"... Do you know what day it is, Ritsu-chan?" his mother's content voice woke him up from the thoughts swimming in his head.
Shrugging his shoulders, Ritsu looked at the pale blue of the sky, almost completely free of coulds. "The 7th of July, isn't it...?"
A hand rested on his head in a light touch and ruffled his hair affectionately, a breath of laughter following that motherly gesture. "Yes, it is the 7th of July." the wind picked up in that moment of silence between them and his mother's scent filled his nose - Ritsu inhaled unconsciously, closing his eyes.
For a second, he thought he was home again.
The real one. In Japan.
Japan... he missed it. A lot.
Not for the first time he wondered if it wouldn't have been better to stay, if it wouldn't have been batter to clear things up... instead...
He had run away.
"Ne, Ritsu-chan?" whispered his mother, not wanting to interrupt her son's melancholic thoughts but deciding it was for the best.
"... Uhm...?"
The hand resting on his head slipped off lightly and the wing calmed down. "Why don't we celebrate, tonight?"
"Celebrate what, kaa-san?" said Ritsu sighing, finally turning to look at his mother.
"Tanabata, of course." she answered with a smile. "July 7th is Tanabata, in Japan, isn'it? Don't you have a wish you'd like to hang up?" His mother's green eyes were staring at him, gentle and comprehensive, as if they could see inside him and read his soul.
"Uhm... maybe.."
The smile she gave him made Ritsu understand that she knew, still she did nothing but turn around and head back into the house.

That night, Ritsu stayed awake for a long time, his eyes fixed on the lowest branch of the tree in the garden - bamboo wasn't easy to find there - where a small blue piece of paper was moving gently in the breeze.
'I'd like to see him again. Onodera Ritsu'
Those words he had written...
And yet, more he thought about it, more he was afraid of that wish ever coming true.
