"No, no, Alice, it's like this."

Alice watches for the dozenth time as each part of Tarrant's body seems to somehow move in the opposite direction to every other part, all at once. Part of her is convinced it will be impossible for her to ever be able to mimic the dance, but impossible things seem to become easier every day here.

Once he's finished his demonstration, Tarrant walks around behind Alice and takes one of her hands in his own, placing the other lightly on her waist. Taking it slowly so that Alice can keep up, he coaxes each of the movements out of her, guiding her through it until she seems to have enough confidence for him to let go.

He circles around her so he can watch from the front, and smiles. She is concentrating on her feet, but looks up when she feels his eyes on her and smiles back. This proves enough of a distraction, and she quickly finds one foot caught behind the other ankle, causing her to fall forward. In an instant, Tarrant's arms shoot out to catch her. He helps her regain her balance, then pulls her into a quick hug.

"Perhaps that's enough for one day," Alice suggests and he quickly agrees.

"Yes, yes... perhaps more tea?"

Alice thinks she is about full of tea to bursting point, but he's giving her that hopeful look again, and so far, she's developed no way of saying no to it.
