This is not one of my best works. I was in a rut with this piece I hope my partners don't get mad. Anyways, I'm crossing over Newises and West Side Story and my word count is 553. Yes its terribly short, I just had no idea what to do.
Sarah glared at her boyfriend.
"I think New York is a fine place to live in"
"Yes if you like grime" Jack answered, squeezing his girlfriend from behind. "Santa Fe is better"
Sarah pulled away, put her hands on her hips and stared Jack down.
"I like the Island Manhattan" She spun, and her dress's purple fabric flew around her.
"Okay by me In New York"
Some of the other girls that were lounging around the roof as well started to join in.
"I like to be in New York
Okay by me in New York
Everything free in New York!"
Spot Conlon looked at the Cowboy and the two friends shared a look.
"For a small fee in New York!" The two boys chanted.
"Buying on credit is so nice" A red-head made her way to the front and looked down at the two boys.
"One look at us and they charge twice" Jack countered and stood up with a jump, urging the rest of the boys to join in with him.
Sarah scoffed and started to clap her hands
"I'll have my own washing machine" Sarah said, as she sauntered to the front of the crowd.
"What will you have though to keep clean?" Jack spoke while he pulled some of his newsies up to join in the argument.
"Skyscrapers bloom in New York!" Spot's Conlon's girlfriend, the red head defended her friend.
"Cadillacs zoom in New York" Vicky supported.
"Industry boom in New York!" The three girls cheered together.
"Twelve in a room in New York!" The boys shouted back.
"Lots of new housing with more space" Sarah sung.
"Lots of doors slamming in our face" Jack belted out, chasing after Sarah as she danced across the roof once more.
Because somewhere along the line of the previous statements they decided that they needed to dance and sing to prove their point.
"I'll get a terrace apartment" The red-headed Irish girl sang.
"Better get rid of your accent" Spot sang back. Grabbing his girl and twirling her against her will.
"Life can be bright in New York" Sarah hollered to anyone willing to listen.
"If you can fight in New York" The male newsies decided to get in formation and pretended to hit each other.
"Life is all right in New York" All the girls got together and began their own choir.
"If you're all white in New York"
The two choirs started going at it
"Here you are free and you have pride"
"Long as you stay on your own side"
"Free to be anything you choose"
"Free to wait tables and shine shoes" The guy's mocked ant took over the stage, dancing their hearts out.
"Everywhere grime in New York
Organized crime in New York
Terrible time in New York"
Sarah crossed her arms and smirked
"You forget I'm in New York"
The girls cheered while the boys made hurt sounds. Sarah danced away making Chihuahua noises.
Jack rolled his eyes and turned his back on the girls and faced his boys.
"I think I'll go back to Santa Fe"
"I know what train you can get on" Sarah retorted.
"Bye, Bye" All of the girls waved twice and laughed.
"Everyone there will give big cheers" Jack tried to encourage his idea
"Everyone there will have moved here"
