It was late. Kate had just gotten home from what felt like the longest day of her life. Castle was already tucked away into bed. She doesn't blame him for not waiting up for her. If the roles were reversed, she wouldn't have stayed up for him. She wanted nothing more than to slip into bed beside her husband and sleep the night, or what was left of it anyways, away.

But strangely enough Kate wasn't tired. She knew there was no way she was falling asleep now. After the day she had. She was still wired. So she made some dinner. Well she warmed up leftovers. As quietly as she could because she didn't want to wake up sleeping beauty in the next room.

She sat on the couch with yesterday's Pad Thai and flipped on the TV. She wasn't quite sure what she was in the mood for. She needed to watch something light and easy to follow. Because she was in no mood to think right now.

When she came across The Fault in Our Stars is decided it was good enough. She knew Alexis read the book the summer before and loved it. She just figured it would be a light, romantic teenage rom com. Boy, was she wrong.

She doesn't remember what part she started crying at but she hadn't be able to stop. All Hazel wanted to do was go to Amsterdam. Then she finally gets to go and her favourite author is an ass and her boyfriend is dying? She was so immersed in the movie that she hadn't seen Castle standing on the doorway of the office. She hasn't even heard him. She probably woke him up with the sound of her sobs.

"Babe, what's wrong?" Castle rushed to her side. Not noticing the movie she was watching. He just figured life had caught up to her and she was letting go of everything they've been through the last few months.

Wiping the tears and snot with her sweater she managed to stop crying enough to say, "Augustus is dead." But saying it out loud just made her cry more.

"Who's Augustus? A victims?" Still oblivious to the movie, Castle thought they had caught a case that may have been a little too close to home. Wiping away her tears and moving the now wet hair off of her face, he looked at her with love and worry in his eyes.

That's when Kate pointed to the TV. The TV that Castle hadn't even noticed had been on. He was so worried that all he could see was his sobbing wife.

Castle looked at the TV. He saw what movie she was watching. Put two and two together and started laughing. He was laughing so hard that he had started crying.

"Don't laugh at me!" Kate had settled down a bit since Castle first showed up.

"I'm not. Okay I am. But I'm sorry. Babe, I thought something was wrong!"

"Something is wrong! The love of Hazel Grace's life died. He was so young. They were both so young." Then she started crying again.

"Kate, you know it's just a movie right? It's not real life." Castle had pull Kate into his lap and was running his hands in slow soothing circles on her back. He could see her eyelids getting heavier and knew she must be exhausted.

"Take me to bed, Rick." It's like she had been reading his mind.

Usually she hates when Castle carries her but she was too emotionally and physically exhausted that she didn't mind one bit.

Kissing her on the head before he put her to into bed. He tucked her in and climb into bed beside her.

"Castle, I love you" Kate said as Castle wrapped his arms around her.

"Okay" Castle replied.

"Okay" Kate said back with a smile on her face. She knew he must have watched the movie one day when he had stayed home from the precinct to 'write'.

"Make Always can be our Okay?" Castle said chuckling.

"Always" Kate replied as she drifted into a soundless sleep.
