Aurora sighed softly. It was only her second day working with her stepfather at the factory he owned in Ohio, and she was already bored out of her mind. Putting the same thing in hundreds of boxes 10 hours a day wasn't as appealing to her as she thought it would be. Soon, she was swept away in her daydreams imagining what it would be like to live in the time when King Arthur reigned over England. She smiled a little, Merlin and Mordred might even have been there!
After a few minutes of thinking about it, she shook her head and laughed softly, 'there's no way that ever really happened. Merlin and Mordred certainly weren't real.' She thought sadly. 'But if they were, it would be awesome to go to that century and get to know them more..' Aurora shook her head that would never happen, at least not to her. She had the most boring and horrible life imaginable.
Suddenly, she felt a hot liquid substance on her back and whimpered. Falling to the ground, she glanced up and saw her stepfather glaring at her. "Get up you stupid girl! How long have I put up with your nonsense?!"
Aurora got up painfully and stared back at him silently. At times like these, it was best for her to not say a word. Because if she did, then nothing good would come from it. Nothing at all.
Her stepfather smirked at her, "That's what I thought you little pest. Now leave! I don't want to ever see your face in here again!" Grabbing her shirt roughly, he pushed her out the door and onto the sidewalk.
She glanced up at him for a minute, then got up and walked away, not bothering to look back. If she had, she would have seen him pull his hand gun out from underneath his jacket and aim it straight at her head. By the time she heard the gun go off, she couldn't get down fast enough or run anywhere. So the bullet hit her, straight in the back of her head.
Satisfied, her stepfather went back inside with a grin on his face. If he would have stayed outside a little longer, he would have seen a blue light appear and suck Aurora into it.
