This is how 'Rose' should have gone. Remember that moment when the Doctor says he can feel the turn of the Earth, takes Rose's hand, says they're clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and could suddenly fall off?
He dropped her hand. "That's who I am. Now, forget me, Rose Tyler."
That should have been it. But instead, she scoffed at him.
"Are you mental? That's telling me to go away? I'd rather shag you up against the nearest wall."
It had been a long time. He didn't say it, but he thought it. Some human ESP allowed her to read it in his eyes, and she stepped into him, her lips parting under the swipe of her tongue.
Two minutes later, he had her pushed up against the TARDIS. There was life in the old Gallifreyan yet.
