stay with me:

chapter 1: the blood covered woman

Emma swan had always been the one to run away from everything that she feared, just go, its over, she thought to herself. Emma had just met her parents for the first time at age 26. She would never forgive them for leaving her as a kid. She had a child herself, Henry. He was her happiness and she loved him will all of her heart. As Emma drove home her mind was clouded with thoughts. I cant forgive them, i wont let them in, i have always been alone, it keeps me safe. She was so lost in thought, she snapped back to reality as she saw a figure walking directly infront of her car, it was already too late to stop. And then, there was total blackness.

It wasn't long before Emma regained consciousness, her body ached from head to toe as she remember what happened. She slowly lifted herself into a comfortable position when she looked out the window and saw her. A woman, lying infornt of her car, there was so much blood around her that she felt like she could taste it. She jumped out of her car to help this woman. When Emma got to her she rang an ambulance straight away. Shit shit shit, she mumbled. She took off her jacket and pressed it against the wound to try help the bleeding. Emma looked down and found an ID card lying next to this woman, Regina Mills, aged 32.

It had been two days, although Regina doesn't know that when she wakes up. The first thing she notices is the unfamiliar voices and the beeping of machines. Pain is quickly replaced by fear. Where am i, what happened? She thinks to herself. It takes her a few minutes to remember, but she does. She was walking, she had recently lost her closest friend, her only friend infact. She was crying and then blackness. She remembers the stranger trying to help her. She remembers the blonde hair and the red leather jacket.

Emma was also in the hospital, although she was recovering quickly, a broken wrist and a few broken ribs. She opened to eyes and the first thing she saw was brown eyes staring at her, Henry. "Hi mama, I brought mr dinosaur cause he missed you" Henry told her. Emma chuckled at this. Henry was only three years old so he didn't understand what had happened, but he missed her, and she missed him. A few moments later the doctor came in. "Emma, its good to see you awake, you should be okay to go home by the end of the week, if all goes to plan." The doctor told Emma and she was relived, she's never felt this tired before. "Thankyou doc, is- is Regina okay, i mean is she awake?" Emma felt nervous. "yes, although she's badly injured, she'll be in here for alot longer than you ms swan, if you feel up to it i can take you to her room"

Emma and Henry was directed to Regina's room. " who is she ma, is she your friend" Henry asked. " no Henry, i just want to make sure she's okay" They walked into the room and Regina looked confused. Emma was shocked by how injured she was, she felt guilty. After all it was her fault, or she thought so anyway. Emma took Henry's hand and walked over to the chair beside Regina's bed. "Hi, how're you feeling, i'm Emma" she said to Regina. Regina didn't know this woman, not intirely, but she remembered the blonde hair and she knew it was her. Regina didn't respond to Emma however it caught her attention when a child's voice said "ma, don't forget me" Henry looked over at Regina and said "i'm Henry" Emma and Regina laughed a little and their eyes met. Regina was the first to look away but Emma kept looking. They both heard Henry chuckling to himself. " what's so funny Henry" Emma asked sarcastically. Henry looked at Emma and whispered "she's pretty, ma" and although he whispered, Regina heard him and a smile spread across her face. "its nice to meet you Henry" she told him. "and you too, Emma".
