It is an ancient, far away warmth that fills them in that moment. A nostalgia of a time when the set would seclude them from the world, and they were free in an illusion of time and space and their silly crushes on one another. It's over now. They sit, holding mugs of coffee, and it's over. It's just nostalgia.

Somehow they're both here. They haven't seen each other in a while. Now it's all memories and jokes, sipping and laughing and feeling at home. A quick visit with an... acquaintance. That word hurts, because it's not 'lover' or even 'friend'.

She'd never said it before, never planned to. Without warning her dumb, human brain gives a signal to her dumb, human mouth and she blurts out the words, "I loved you." Because she did, she loved him so much.

He looks at her in surprise, but he's thinking the same thing. It's a rush of memories: the crazy chemistry on set, the awkward pauses, the inner jokes. The pleasure of kissing, despite the cameras. The greater pleasure of kissing without them. And that one time they never speak of. There is a blur of hidden jealousy, falling in love with other people, never saying out loud what they wished to say as they slowly drifted away... Their relationship turning to dust as the need to say it only grew stronger. And now she said it.

"Me, too," he begins. He pauses, looking into her eyes to speak the truth. That he once loved her more than anything in the world. "Billie, I-"

A sudden knock on the door, and they never speak of it again.

How fitting.
