Maybe Being Conan Wasn't So Bad
Disclaimer, I do not own Case Closed/Detective Conan or any of its components, sad but true non the less!
The Amusing Thief
Kudo Shinichi smiled in spite of himself. Even after all this time he was still begrudgingly impressed with the baka thief Kaito Kid. It was like a breath of fresh air, taking on a case involving the elusive magician always was. Death and mayhem followed Shinichi where ever he went the constant stress was always wearing him out. But a Kaito Kid case was like a vacation. Where he could use all his detective reasoning and intellect, being pushed to his limits and more importantly being able to do so without the fear of bodies dropping all around him, further deaths to prevent and murderers to catch. It was simple yet challenging. Truly he couldn't help but think the thief knew what he did for the young detective, that he brought a semblance of peace and joy into his life. Sometimes Shinichi just comes as a spectator to watch the show like everyone else and be amazed by a spectacular magician and a truly amusing thief.
The Brother
Looking back he had to admit there was no way he could of gotten by as well as he did without Hattori's help. He could admit also that he greatly enjoys the rivalry he has with him, Hattori is probably one of the most important people in his life. He'd take a bullet for him just as he knew that Hattori would do the same for him. He greatly respected his best friend's detective reasoning, his prowess with a sword and his ability to keep him from drowning in the horrors that follow them in their way of life as detectives. After all it's not often you can find someone you can trust in absolute in their world were bodies seem to drop around them constantly. He knew that when it came down to it, just as he had when he was stuck with the body of a child, that he could trust his brother in all but blood to watch his back.
