Which Servant Will You Be?
Two servants
Lived with thier
Mistress
Serving her the best they could.
The servants served
Happily, for their Mistress
Provided more than
They could ever earn.
Love, Hope
Peace
Joy
A place to call their own.
Then the Mistress
Had buisness
In another place
She asked them to serve her though she was gone.
She gave
Each servant
Different tasks
They vowed to serve their best.
Their Mistress
Was gone a long while
Months on end
Would the servants hold strong?
The eldest
Grew restless
Patience worn thin
Serving seemed pointless.
The youngest
Waited expectantly
Always expecting her return
Serving was a simple pastime.
Both wanted their Mistress back
Some more insistently than the other
Patient and Impatient
Serving their Mistress.
And then the eldest
Had had enough
Gave up on her Mistress
Gave up serving.
This servant began
To do unholy things
She never would've done before
Never as a servant.
Then the Mistress returned unexpectedly
Saw the evil servant
And sent her away
Never to serve again.
The ex-servant
Left in despair
Never to come back
To Joy and Love.
But the
Young patient one
The Mistress was pleased with.
She raised this servant to a place of honor.
Which will you be?
The one who gave up hope?
The one who never thought
That she would ever be caught?
The one who slipped to temptation?
The one who disappointed?
Or will you be
The one who kept on hoping
Though it seemed hopeless?
The one who kept on obeying
Though there was no one to enforce?
Will you be
The one who kept her promise,
Kept going about her responsibilities?
The one who didn't ever even consider
Disappointing?
Who will you be?
