Inspired by "APH CMV The Last Night" by "CrimsonHourCosplay", a CMV I watched.
It was never meant to be. They had always known that, but they wanted to continue to try anyways. They wanted to take the chance. Everything was leading up to her marrying Austria, yet she still wanted Prussia. Hungary had always known. Still, as she did every night, she snuck out and saw him standing under the bridge, waiting for her.
"Prussia!" Hungary yelled rushing towards him.
"Hungary!" Prussia responded. As soon as she pulled back, she looked at him smiling at her, as she smiled sadly back at him, eyes watering. "What's wrong?" He asked, now looking worried.
She paused and looked at the ground for a second and said "I think . . . I think he plans on asking me to marry him tomorrow." When he said nothing, she looked back up at him.
"I suppose we knew this would happen . . . but I guess I just hoped it wouldn't happen, and pushed the thoughts aside." Prussia replied sadly.
"I don't know what I should do . . . I can't say yes, but I also can't say no." She said laughing half-heartedly.
Prussia laughed a little back "Well, then maybe you just say something random, catch 'em off gaurd." He joked.
They both stood there in silence, staring into each other's eyes. It stayed this way for who knows how long, neither of them saying anything. "I guess it has to be done, doesn't it? You do have to say yes, don't you?" Prussia said breaking the silence.
Hungary's tears finally spilled over as she hugged him again. "I think I do, but I don't want to." Prussia started stroking her hair, as they once again remained in silence, aside from Hungary's sobs.
When Hungary had finally quieted for a few minutes, then Prussia lifted her chin, a sad smile on his lips, right before he gently touches his to her lips. Her eyes widen but then she leans into it, closing her eyes too. He then pulls back and whispers "You'll never forget me and how awesome I am right?" She nodded to tell him she wouldn't forget. "Good cause I will never forget you. You are the only person I've ever met that is as awesome as me. Ich liebe dich." He mumbled into her ear.
"I . . . I love you too." She said softly back. Prussia then once again, kissed her.
"You should probably get going. It'll be morning soon and they'll be worried and stat looking for you. Plus, I'm not even supposed to be here." He said as he turned and left, leaving her staring after him, motionless under the bridge.
After some time, she turned to head back to her home, as the sun was barely starting to rise.
