LUCY
They always expected me to be perfect like my sister, father, and mother…Pure like dawn...like my name. But I wasn't …
I was okay a little shy, overlooked...but happy. I hadn't found love like many of my cousins (ahem...Lily with Scorpius, Teddy with Victoire, Victoire with Teddy, James with Selena)...I didn't have any discerning talent like kindness, intelligence, sportiness…or beauty I had my mum's brown hair with dad's curls andmy dad's blue eyes. My sister Molly looks the opposite with Dad's red hair and mum's golden-hazel eyes …..
But I loved singing. It was my passion. Whenever I needed to unwind I just sang and some of the burden left me….So this was me until my 6th year .When I came home from my cousin Roxanne's monthly sleepover a couple hours early I heard my parents arguing… about me.
'She can't keep being so carefree anymore. This is her sixth year and she has yet to like anything but singing. Molly is just out of Hogwarts and she's already at the ministry, Audrey!
'Every child is different, Percy. Just give her time. She'll be a ministry worker or a quidditch player. Give her time,Percy.'
Later that night I reviewed my apparent options for a job..Quidditch , no
Ministry….no no NO!
I knew what I wanted to be deep down. But whether my parents accept it was the actual question…
There were no secrets in my whole family…AND the ones that had been kept didn't exactly have a great track record or a great outcome.
I would tell my parents.. right now in fact.
'Mum , Dad I heard your.. talk about me.'
'Honey , we..'
'Please listen to me.. I have weighed my options very clearly alongside my passions and I don't want to be a ministry worker or a Quidditch player'
'Then what DO you want to be , dear?' Dad asked.
'A singer.'
