lostmoonchild: Okay, since some people liked "Arms of an Angel" here's a sort of Kagome's view, "Arms of a Hanyou" for everybody to enjoy. I don't own Inuyasha and I don't own the song "Our Farewell" (that song belongs to Within Temptation) so don't sue.
Arms of a Hanyou
Thwang!
Kagome gasped in shock when she felt her warm blood soaking through her shirt, an arrow sticking out of her stomach. The dead priestess, Kikyo, stood before her with a triumphant smile, looking like a little kid in a candy store with a hundred dollar bill in hand. Shaking, Kagome fell to the ground and stared at Kikyo. "You're going to watch me die?" Kagome asked, her voice shaking.
"KAGOME!" Inuyasha's voice shouted before Kikyo could answer
Kagome tried to scream Inuyasha's name but found she couldn't. She was too afraid. Quietly, she watched as Inuyasha came running and Kikyo left without a word. "Oh, gods…" Inuyasha said when he saw Kagome. "It's okay. I'm going to take care of you."
A small cry left Kagome's lips as she felt Inuyasha carefully remove the arrow. "Inuyasha…" Kagome whispered rolling down her face.
Inuyasha carefully wrapped Kagome's wound before gently wiping her tears away. "You're going to be okay." Inuyasha whispered.
Kagome closed her eyes when she felt Inuyasha lie down next to her. She could feel his arms around her, protecting her from the world. How many times had he given her comfort in her times of need? Was it as many times as she cared for him? Or was it equal?
"Don't fall asleep." Inuyasha said.
Kagome nestled against Inuyasha and listened to his heart beating steadily. She knew Inuyasha was scared that he would lose her and was trying everything she could to reassure him. Softly, she began singing:
Give my hand a legacy of memories
I can hear you say my name
I can almost see your smile
Feel the warmth of your embrace
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the one I love
Is this our farewell?
Sweet darling, you worry too much
My child, see sadness in your eyes.
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are
Never thought this day would come so soon
We had no time to say goodbye.
How can the world just carry on?
Feel so lost when you're not at my side
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the one, I love
Is this our farewell?
Sweet darling you worry too much
My child, see sadness in your eyes.
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are
So sorry your world is tumbling down
I'll watch you through these nights.
Rest your head alone to sleep
Cause my child… this not our farewell.
This is not our farewell…
Inuyasha nodded a little at "this is not our farewell" knowing Kagome wouldn't leave him. She loved him too much and he loved her. "I love you." Inuyasha said softly in Kagome's ear.
"I love you too."
Smiling, Inuyasha buried his face in the crook of Kagome's neck and lightly kissed her. She was his. They both knew that. Neither were willing to deny it either.
How many times had the lips that whispered to her now and kissed her neck shouted words that always ended in a fight? Kagome didn't know. All she knew was that she was safe in the arms of a hanyou.
The arms of HER hanyou.
lostmoonchild: Okay, I don't really remember what I was thinking when I wrote this or even what I was thinking when I threw the song in there. Probably cause the ending is kind of saying "We won't be saying 'goodbye' to each other." or something like that. Anyway, read and review, flames are accepted.
