I don't own anything related to Criminal Minds. All I own is a bunch of debt, a day job that sucks, a night job that is marvelous, and a copy of Skyrim to play amidst the mess of it all.

Hey, look at me! I'm tossing off another drabble before work (rather than working on chapter whatever of Life Sucks) – someone stick a titanium spork in me, please? ;) The title is, obviously, a reference to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Don't Panic!

She felt broken.

It was trite and irrational and stupid, but the moment she heard the explosion, the most important part of what made her Penelope shattered into a million pieces.

That she had let herself become so co-dependent with another human being again, let alone Derek Morgan with his Teddy Roosevelt "CHARGE!" attitude, was horrifying and astounding to her.

When had it happened? Somewhere around "Baby Girl", she thought.

If he wasn't okay, she wouldn't be able to get up in the morning and be Penelope. She would go back to being the scared child that had lost everything.
