Blond's Revenge
Rhonda Morgan was use to getting told blond jokes. Being blond wasn't something she was ashamed of. In fact, some days she took full advantage of being a ditz, and Speed knew this.
Speed found Rhonda and Calleigh in the break room. They were relaxing on the couch after a rough afternoon of collecting evidence from a crime scene in the 'Glades.
"Afternoon, ladies," he said in greeting as he walked into the room.
"He's being polite," Calleigh commented, dryly. "He's up to something."
"Yeah," Rhonda drawled. "Six feet tall. Amazing how high they can stack shit these days."
Speed shot Rhonda a dirty look, which caused Calleigh to snicker. "We love you, Timmy," she said in an attempt to sooth Speed's ruffled feathers.
"Yeah, I can just feel it," Speed growled.
"So why are you so cheerful?" Rhonda asked. She was certain that Speed had heard another blond joke and was dying to share it with her.
"I heard a really good blond joke earlier."
"Not in the mood for one today, pal," Rhonda warned him.
Speed smirked and told the joke anyway.
Rhonda growled at him. "Why is it that you tell me the blond jokes and not Cal? She is just as much a blond as I am."
"She would shoot me," Speed reasoned.
"And, I won't?" Rhonda inquired with a hint of annoyance coloring her voice.
"You haven't yet," Speed countered.
Rhonda smiled sweetly at him. She held out her hand and felt Calleigh place her gun in it. She casually pointed it in Speed's direction. "You might want to rethink that logic," she advised.
Speed swallowed a snarky retort as he looked at the gun. It was held unwaveringly in his direction and made the decision for him. He ducked out of the break room in a hurry.
Rhonda snickered. She hand the gun back to Cal. "Thanks."
"That was the first time I have ever seen Tim live up to his nickname," Calleigh said with a laugh.
There was a corresponding dry laugh from behind them. "That wasn't very nice, ladies," Horatio Caine remarked as he joined them on the couch.
"But very satisfying," Rhonda remarked sharing an all-knowing look with Calleigh.
Horatio shook his head in bemusement. "Some days I think I work with children."
Rhonda leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek. "We love you, Dad."
The End
