Okay so this is based off of a recurring nightmare that I was unaware I kept having until this morning when I woke up before it finished, thus I remembered it.

Sora was the incarnation of pure, unadulterated compassion, Riku knew this well. So it was without surprise when Sora came to him crying, probably mourning someone else's misfortune.

But he was surprised by what Sora had said next. "It was dead." The brunette clutched Riku's shirt, buried his face into his chest and let out a choked sigh. Riku rubbed Sora's back comfortingly and pulled him away at arms length.

"Do you want to tell me what happened," he asked softly. Sora was silent for a while, his gaze averted to the wall as if it were the most interesting thing he'd seen in years. But it was shattered.

"This morning, mom sent me out to go pick up a few things at the store. As I was coming back I stumbled onto a crow that was laying on the ground. It looked as it were taking flight but it was dead. Or so I thought. It cawed out hoarsely and it looked at me. I could feel its stare. It twitched and then it stopped moving. I didn't dare touch it but suddenly I felt this foreboding feeling."

As Sora chattered on, Riku could hear the fear in Sora's voice. Almost like delirium.

"I could hear cawing, and I looked up and there were crow's everywhere. On the power lines, in trees, on cars. surrounding me and flying. They were everywhere. It felt as If they were blaming me for the death of this crow. And to be honest, I felt guilty. I felt as If I had killed that poor crow." Sora sighed and stared out the window.

"But you didn't kill the crow." Sora turned to Riku and nodded. "Yes, I know I didn't kill it but I felt like I had." Riku didn't know what to say after that. So they sat on his bed for a while in silence before Sora got up. "I should probably head home."

The brunette turned and smiled at Riku before picking up his bag, walking towards his bedroom door and closing it with a soft click as he left. Riku huffed out and fell back into the cushions. His deep green, blue speckled gaze sat on the popcorn ceiling, tracing shapes and designs. Suddenly he heard the cawing of a crow. He sat up and looked at his window. And there it was.

A crow sitting on his window sill with the window wide open. 'The window hadn't been open just a moment ago…' He stared at the crow and it croaked at him. It was a dull feeling but it was still there.

A sense of dread you could say, as he noted to himself that it almost looked like the crow was smiling at him.

Rating will change. This is based off of a nightmare of mine that has haunted me for quite a while. More chapters will be uploaded probably quickly because like I said, its based off of a vivid nightmare. This will also be a tragedy and there will be some RikuxSora but probably not in a way you'll enjoy. Reviews are welcomed, this is unbeta'ed so please point out my mistakes. More than likely, chapters will become longer so don't let the current length deter you ovo
