The sound of drizzling rain continued to resound throughout the area. The wind whispered its secrets to those loitering in the dark streets, but at the same time, it brought with it an almost eerie silence.
A shadowy silhouette leaned against the wall of an alley way, hiding themselves from unneeded attention. They wore a slightly oversized maroon hoodie on top of a plain white T-shirt, accompanied with dark brown shorts a few inches above their knees.
Worn red fabrics that tightly strapped a traditional Katana onto their body. Long black sockings turned cold from the splashes of the rain drops. They tapped their foot in a rhythm, the echo of a rosewood boot hitting the ground muffled by the hum of the wind.
Hoodie up, face down, they look neither male or female, but a slight bulge of the chest indicated the latter.
Faint vibration in her pocket alerted her. She fished out her phone and scrolled through her notifications, only to emit a sigh of annoyance after seeing the latest message.
Sender: Sakaguchi-san
Addressee: Kazehaya
Title: Reminder
Kazehaya-san, I hope that your current mission would go well without any mishaps unlike the previous one. Please keep your destructive tendencies to a minimum, we wouldn't want to garner attention from other organisations.
Aren't you exaggerating a little too much?
It's not my fault that those buildings were that brittle...
Rather, shouldn't you blame the workers for doing such a poor job in constructing them?
Of course, the female kept those shameless thoughts to herself and managed to restrain herself from typing those out.
Sender: Kazehaya
Addressee: Sakaguchi-san
Title: Reply: Reminder
Duly noted. And, it was only that time. It wasn't as if I wanted to intentionally cut down those buildings.
Well~ It couldn't be helped if they were presenting themselves as obstacles from my prey. Right?
It was midnight in Yokohama. The usual rays of moonlight was covered by the thick plumes of stormy cloud. The female, who goes by Kazehaya, was waiting for the rain to settle before proceeding with the mission -to destroy the warehouse accumulating firearms.
The owner of the said warehouse is a member of an underworld organisation, disguising the warehouse for storing toys. He had been distributing firearms to its other associated parties. In return, they are given money and protection from their enemies.
Kazehaya noted the fact that this has been ongoing for four years.
Once the rain has nearly stopped, she proceeded to accomplish her mission.
She paced silently towards the back of the warehouse, thankfully close-by. In the first place, she was originally heading there but decided to wait under a shelter after feeling a change in the wind current which indicates a wet weather.
The warehouse was surrounded by what she assumes to be electric fences. They are at least 3 metres tall. Activates on contact.
Before stepping out of the dark, she eyed the compound carefully. Despite the dark, she saw that the building remains unguarded. She scanned the overgrown weed for any movement, but there was nothing.
Stepping into the dim light of the moon, guard up. Approaching the fence, she took out a small knife from one of the inner pockets of her hoodie and tapped lightly against one part of the fence.
Surprisingly, nothing happen.
Not even a slight spark of electricity which was weird considering that metal are supposedly conductors of electricity. She paused. It convinced her that either the fences were malfunctioning or she was being led to a trap.
It seems to be more realistic for there to be an ambush. She refused to believe that it is just a lucky coincidence for it to be a normal set of fences.
Besides, she doesn't believe in coincidences.
Although more than capable in climbing over the fence, she preferred to reserve her strength for the inevitable battle that she would be having inside the building.
She stared at the fences. Active or not, she knows it will not harm her. Checking is just part of seeing whether an alarm would go off.
Taking a few steps back, she mumbled the same few words to activate her ability.
