A/N: Ok so my previous "attempts" at fan fiction stories have been, to say the least HORRIBLE……… but, I have taken into consideration a lot of constructive criticism and anger management wink just kidding! Also I've visited some of the sites that you proscribed, on account my stories were, I must admit MARY-SUES cue horror movie music. Any way this is going to be slightly humorous and as all of us must do, I do not own Lord of the Rings, I'm just borrowing it! And no the title has nothing to do with Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events series; I just thought that it would fit the story plot. So without adieu….. my story!

The Series Unfortunate of Events of An Elf's Life

By: Ithilwen Tinuviel

Chapter 1: The Day In Hell...O! I mean Mirkwood

"Pssssssst! Legolas!" a soft voice hissed in the ear the sleeping Prince's ear. The owner of the voice, who was Elladan of Rivendell, was clearly annoyed, who wouldn't be?! Who ever heard of an elf being a deep sleeper? Rolling over and groaning something about not wanting to go to Rivendell, Legolas put his golden head under his pillow and went back to snoring away ( A/N: I don't know whether elves really snore I just thought it would be funny).

"Is he awake yet, Elladan?" asked Elladan's twin brother Elrohir, who had stuck his head through the door.

"No, he hasn't!" said Elladan, then he got a mischievous gleam in his eye. "But, he's going to miss Sérëdhiel take her daily walk through the garden," he winked conspiratorially to his twin. "In fact, I think I see her now!" he said in a loud voice. The Mirkwood Prince jumped out of bed and put on his clothes, quiver, and bow quicker than you could say wow. He rushed out of his room, with the twins behind him. He ran out into the garden and turned the corner and almost right into….

"Sérëdhiel! Goheno nin! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to run into you!" said Legolas, who was clearly embarrassed.

"It's alright Legolas," Sérëdhiel laughed, "Infact I'm glad I bumped into you!"

"You are?" he asked, despite his cool façade he had put on, his heart was beating fast and it felt as if it were climbing up his throat.

"Yes, I am! I was sent by your father, to give you this." She smiled and gave him a piece of parchment. Legolas took it from her outstretched hand and read it. Inwardly Legolas groaned, his father wanted to discuss the upcoming ball with him which could only mean one thing, that he wanted to talk about finding Legolas a suitable bride. Joy………..
