Just a random little thing I wrote because I was bored. Honestly, I hate myself slightly.
Disclaimer: If I owned Glee, Niff would be canon and it would be The Warblers Show.
A loud crash and the sound of a car's shrieking brakes made Jeff jerk his head up, searching for where the sound came from. At first, he didn't see anything, but as his eyes took in what was happening in front of him, he stopped breathing. On the ground, just meters in front of him, he could see the shape of his boyfriend lying in a puddle of blood. Everything was running through his mind under the few seconds it took for him to get to Nick. Memories from the day they met in pre-school, days at the playground, numerous birthday parties. How the boys always stuck together, no matter what. That Nick just smiled and hugged Jeff tightly when he came out, how Nick helped him through the bullying at their old school, the day they both started at Dalton and met the Warblers. All of it replayed in his head as he tried to grip the situation, his boyfriend looking lifeless in front of him.
"NICK!" Jeff fell down next to him, pulling the boy's head into his lap. He was still breathing, but just faintly.
"Don't leave me, please, you said you'd never leave me." The tears began to roll down the blonde's cheeks as he felt everything falling down on top of him. This wasn't true, it couldn't be. Anytime now, Nick would jump up, wipe away the blood from his face and look at Jeff with that dorky grin. But Nick was barely moving at all, his chest raising just the slightest as his eyes flicked open to look at Jeff.
"Hey there, Jeffy." he whispered out with an exhausted smile.
"I should've watched out before running out in the road like that." Jeff just shook his head, pressing his lips against Nick's forehead.
"Keep breathing. Just listen to me for once and keep breathing." Jeff didn't notice the people gathering around them, much less the quiet murmuring. He couldn't focus on anything else than Nick.
"Don't you dare die on me!" he screamed out, clinging desperately to the boy's body.
"Do you remember the day we got together?" Nick suddenly asked. Jeff nodded.
"I've never been happier. After all those years, I finally got the balls to confess. And I'm so glad I did." Jeff let out a tiny smile through his tears.
"Me too. You'll always be my only one." Nick looked as if he was trying to say something, but was cut off by the distant sirens, which almost made Jeff laugh of relief.
"Hold on, Nicky, they're almost here. They're going to fix you, you're not dying. Stay with me, babe." Nick winced, his breathing becoming more forced by the second.
"It hurts." he whispered out.
"I know, but it'll be over soon. I love you and I'm not leaving you." Jeff blinked away the tears, trying to clear his vision. He met Nick's eyes, a small smile on the brunette's lips.
"I love you too, Jeff. I love you so much." With that, a final breath was inhaled and his body fell lifeless in Jeff's arms.
