A/N: This is a possibility of a death scene in aquacupcake's story: 16th Hunger Games SYOT. These are my characters and, no, it is written like this so you won't know whose POV this is about.

He held my hand as we walked to the river. He didn't let go of my hand even as I prepared to dive into the some-what deep river.

"You know you have to let go off my hand if you want us to get food." I smiled at him, squeezing his hand.

Smiling back at me, he dropped it and jumped into the river, plugging his nose and squeezing his eyes shut– in cannonball formation. I laughed quietly and dove precisely into the river, cutting through the water.

I opened my eyes under the water and I saw medium-sized fish swimming near the bottom of the river heading downstream. Before I attempted to get one, I popped my head out of the water in the search for him.

I called out his name once.

There was no reply. There was only the sound of water rushing and there was air whipping past my face making goose bumps rise along my arms and my back.

Suddenly, I felt the water behind my back move slightly. Just as I nearly did a full 180°, I felt something close around my ankle and my body got yanked underwater.

My eyes were wide opened as I was underwater. I looked around my ankle area and saw a blurry figure shaped as hand. But as soon as I thought I saw a hand, it disappeared from my view and so did the pressure.

I jerked backwards and pulled my head out of the water and came face to face with a pair of dark eyes.

My terror dissipated and was replaced with anger when I noticed that the eyes were extremely familiar.

"Oh my God! You friggin' scared me!" I jumped on his back half-annoyed. He laughed at me. "That was not funny! You could've been someone trying to kill me."

He had a smirk that seemed to be permanently plastered to his face. "I could've been." He pulled me towards him and murmured, "But I'm not."

I rolled my eyes and pulled away and said, "Let's do what we came here for– fishing." I emphasized.

I swam further away from him and dove underwater. I could sense him coming closer to me. I pulled out and saw him standing there soaking wet–considering we were standing in a river– with an odd, dark look on his face. But just as quickly as I saw it, it was replaced with his normal, neutral look.

I shook off the feeling that followed after seeing that expression.

I turned back around and dunked my head into the water. All of a sudden, I felt a strong pressure around my neck. I was holding my breath, but I felt as though my air had just been cut off at that moment.

Someone was trying to drown me.

I wanted to desperately call out to him for help– I couldn't. I attempted to pry the hands off of my throat. I couldn't see who was holding me as being underwater made things blurry, but I was sure for a fact that the person who was attempting to hurt me was a male.

I found my footing and stood up on my toes as I tried to regain my breath. My eyes were wide open and I saw a figure looked like him– I was starting to hallucinate.I had about a second or so to gasp for air before the hands pushed me back under. I was losing consciousness.

The last thing I remember seeing was the pair of dark eyes that I loved so much.
I've always wanted to spend most of my life in the water – now I can.
