The Switch

Chapter 1

"Could we rest? I am tiered and we have been walking for hours." Whined Hige, a light brown wolf that has some growing up to do.

"We are going to stop at that cave for the night." Stated Kiba, the leader of the wolf pack and his fur is as white as snow.

"What about food? I am STARVING!"

"You ate an hour ago, Hige." Said Tsume, he is the most hard headed of the group and he is grey with a white X across his chest.

"You want to go Tsume?"

"I could take you out and you know it." Both wolves bearing their teeth ready to tare out the others throat.

"Hey guys, why don't we all just calm down. We are all friends here." Quietly said Toboe, a tan wolf with his head lowered and his tail tucked.

"STOP!" Yelled Kiba. The word echoed throughout the barren desert with very little greenery. "Toboi is right! We are a pack now. We should start acting like one. So cut the crap or I will get involved and you don't want that." Ordered Kiba, he had placed himself in between the two wolves. After everyone had cooled down they started back towards the cave.

Meanwhile, in a whole other world and time, the princess of the wolves, Princess Mononoke, was patrolling with her two brothers. Princess Mononoke was human, but her brothers and family were giant wolves.

"Are you sure you are okay Akihiro?" Asked Mononoke. She was worried about her brother, but she always worried about her family. She was very protective of them and she would try to kill anyone who messed with them.

"I'm fine. Besides we need to keep patrolling the outlines of the forest." Assured Akihiro. He was very brave and overly protective of his family.

"I can continue on without the two of you. So you two can head back to the den." Suggested Mononoke

"No its too Dangerous." Spoke the second brother, he was the youngest of the two brothers.

"Please go back. You wouldn't be much help anyways Akihiro." Reassured Mononoke

"But…."

"No buts, GO!" ordered Mononoke, as she pointed in the direction of the den. Her brothers headed back, but not without looking over their shoulders at their sister. After they had gone out of sight Mononoke began patrolling once again.

2 Hours Later…..

"Mononoke… Mononoke." A voice called out from a distance.

"What? Who?" Mononoke said puzzled.

Running towards Mononoke was a young and beautiful wolf name Kaori (she is white with light blue eyes).

"Mononoke its Kaori I am here to help you patrol the outlines of the forest."

"Akihiro sent you didn't he." She stated as she griped here spear. "When is he going to learn that I can do this by myself and that he doesn't always have to watch over me?" Kaori said nothing and followed Mononoke as she continued to patrol.

After a while it began to rain so both of them ran into a covering to keep warm. "I have never seen this before." Spoke Mononoke

"Neither have I, but I am a little tiered. You look like you could use some rest as well." They both laid down to rest for a little while and as they were sleeping they covering began to fade.
