That boy was always there, just watching him with innocent purple eyes. Ivan Braginski is what Yao believed his name to be. He was awfully quiet, only ever speaking unless spoken too. Of course, the fact that he didn't speak made him far more intimidating than he already appeared. He was of large stature, strong and a smile that could send chills down your spine graced his face at all times. Every time that Wang Yao had turned his head in his direction, he was already looking right back at him.
Yao would not ask him why he did so everyday, seeing as there was little point. Ivan did no harm or seemed like he wished to cause harm. Well, he had not planned on ever speaking to him at all, just leaving him as he was. But now he was standing with his step brother Honda Kiku and his two annoying friends Alfred F. Jones and Arthur Kirkland (whom Yao had once been in a relationship with, but broke it off because Arthur was too annoying and obviously had his eyes on a French schoolmate), and that purple eyed boy was walking in their direction, eyes fixed on him.
As Ivan got closer, Alfred started whispering about how angry Ivan gets at practice for football games, so it's best to stay on his good side. Yao's sibling simply shrugged, walking off, quickly followed by the green-eyed boy Arthur. Alfred made nervous noises and scampered after the duo as the boy got closer, leaving Yao alone. He tilted his head, dark long hair shifting on his shoulder as he did so. Yao was confused to as why Ivan had finally decided to approach him after all this time watching him.
He was wearing the same smile he always wore, the same smile that scared Yao. He tried to smile back, but it was forced. What did he want from him?
"Hello." he said quietly, calmly. Yao nodded back, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"Hi. Do you need something?" the dark eyed boy asked, admittedly nervous due to Ivan's presence. He just kept smiling. The taller boy stepped closer to Yao, looking down so he was close to Yao's face and eye level with him. The boy that was far shorter jumped back in fright and confusion, bothered by the current closeness of the other's face. He barely knew him!
Ivan reached forward, grabbing Yao's collar gently and puling him back towards him. He was so freaked out, but he would not attack him. He had not tried to hurt him, so he would remain submissive to whatever it is that he's doing. Yao felt extremely unsettled as Ivan's violet eyes stared into his amber coloured ones. This must have really looked odd to those who were passing by, as it was as if they were just staring lovingly at one another. About thirty seconds passed before Ivan let go of him and stepping backwards away from him.
"Wang Yao," he started, a real, genuine smile now gracing his child like face. Yao felt less tense now, his body relaxing a little bit. "You have beautiful eyes." The dark haired boy felt his face heat up at the spontaneous compliment, creasing his brow and stepping back again. Ivan laughed, raising his hand into a slight wave. He turned beginning to walk away from Yao, to wherever he went during lunch breaks. "When you're reading from a math text book, you look very cute, too!" he called out, not turning around to look at Yao again.
And so, Yao found himself running after Ivan. He wasn't sure why, though. Maybe he wished to ask him why he had said such embarrassing things to him, or perhaps… he wished to know Ivan Braginski, the boy who stared at him from across the classroom.
