One Word Prompt: Party
Mirandy
"Natalie Danielle Priestly-Sachs!" Miranda seethed, her eyes bulging at the mess that had been made of the family den.
She heard a bump, then footsteps came running down the hall, "Mom?" The eleven-year-old asked, and the word always made Miranda's heart soar.
"What the hell have you done with the den?"
Her daughter cringed, "Sorry. I'm working on making the decorations for Momma's surprise party."
Miranda took a deep breath and waved her daughter over, pressing a kiss to her forehead, "Good heavens, Angel, with a mess like this, if she gets home before you get it cleaned then the surprise will be all for naught."
Natalie wrapped her arms around her eldest mother's waist- a feat that they had only reached a few weeks ago, after her adoption four months ago- "I'm sorry, I'll clean it up, promise."
"How about you do that now, and I'll remain downstairs in case your other mother gets home early. I'll keep her plenty distracted until I hear you pound your way downstairs."
Natalie giggled and made an icky noise, "I'll be extra loud, I don't want to walk in on another half naked make-out session."
Miranda chuckled, and pressed another kiss to the top of her daughter's head, "Now get started," she commanded lightly, with a small tap to Natalie's bottom.
Natalie glared, but giggled again as she withdrew from the hug and began to pick up the scattered mess around the den, "Getting started."
"I love you, Natalie."
Natalie paused from picking up a glitter covered cardboard star. She turned, flashed Miranda a bright smile and replied, "I love you too, Mom."
"Now hurry getting all this cleaned, if Andrea gets home soon, the longer you take means the more heated the kissing will get," Miranda teased gently, her heart aching with love for the sweet girl they had adopted.
Her daughter giggled and gagged again, waving Miranda out of the room, "Well if you're still up here when she gets home, then there won't be any kissing for you two."
Miranda chuckled and smiled as her daughter went back to cleaning up. Hesitating just a moment, she turned and left the den, heading in direction of the stairs to uphold her end of the deal.
Distract Andrea if she got home early from work, so that her wife wouldn't discover their children's plans for Andrea's birthday party.
