Hey, I realize it's been a while. I have ideas for my stories. I was going to do a bunch of oneshots and update both of my chapter fics but things have taken a turn. This oneshot explains what's going on in my life, well, at least part of what's going on. I'll update everything as soon as I can, but it's hard for me to write right now. This oneshot has nothing to do with HM or Niley, but I thought I would give you an update. Oh, and the person in this oneshot? My grandfather.

Do I really need a disclaimer? I don't own anything. There, I said it.

His color? It was a steely blue, like the sea he controlled for so many years and the steel mills he worked in before that. It was him. Rough around the edges, but caring underneath.

But since that fateful day that the awful word, cancer, happened, his color, that cold steely blue, has grown softer. The color's dimming. Slowly, but surely, the color's growing fainter. Today? It's almost invisible. Tomorrow? It just might be gone. The ocean might sweep it away and the steely blue won't shine like a diamond again. Ever.

The color's dimming. Slowly, but surely, the color's growing fainter. And now, it's almost invisible.
