Chapter one
"Lara, we have done the best shopping trip so far this holidays" I laughed, Lara smiled shaking out her long curly chestnut hair "yeah I love a good shop" she laughed with me, looking up at the sky. Lara was one of my best friends, she is like a sister to me, she looked at me with her wide brown eyes, Lara always seemed to have a look of wisdom and alertness in her eyes. She is tall for our age 6 foot and has a slight strong build. She was wearing a purple top, denim jeans and black and purple volleys, Lara could make the simplest things look great. "Umm do you know where Amy went" I looked around for my other best friend.
"Oh right here, I saw the most gorgeous pair of shoes and the matching bag right next to it and you know the rest, I just had to have them" Amy rushed out in one go, she stopped and smiled. "Of corse you had to have them" Lara rolled her eyes at Amy and Amy poked her tough out at her. Amy's long caramel curls bounced as she turned her head quickly back to me, Amy's blue eyes sparkled with excitement to know what I thought of her black heels and black handbag to match. Amy is not that tall 5 foot 5 and is small and slight she reminds me of a pixie. She was wearing a fluoro pink and black top with black jeans and ankle high black and white converse. "I think they are great Amy" I whispered to her.
I smiled at my two best friends so different, so totally weird, but that totally suits me just fine. We have know each other since we were little, two of us are seventeen now. Lara turned seventeen on the 11/5/2010; I turned seventeen on the 21/7/2010 and Amy turns seventeen on the 20/11/2010.
"First day back at school tomorrow" Lara smiled watching our smiles fade with the knowledge, we both knew it was tomorrow we just did not admit it, "burst my bubble much I was happy not thinking about it but now it is going to be in my head all afternoon" Amy murmured leaning back on her chair and folding her arms over her chest. "Yeah burst the bubble much" I said much louder "quite, do want someone to hear" Lara whispered. "Speaking of school how is the handsome Jake" Thinking of the guy Lara is dating. He's in most of her classes; he is like the perfect guy for her, Lara's dream boy. He is tall like 6 foot one, tanned like the shade of coffee and had blonde hair, to finish off his surfer look, he is sensible and they are really in love. "Oh he is fine, he said his parents have been teaching him something's over the holidays" Lara was smiling like a love sick teen, "Oh so basically he never left school" Amy laughed.
"So what are the girls talking about" Matt Chuckled sitting down beside me and Amy he turned to me and smiled and then to Amy and Lara, "nothing much just school, Jake and things we bought" Lara went through the list with her fingers. Matt ran a hand through his strawberry blonde hair; I noticed his hair was cut shorter but it was long enough that Matt could still style it; His blue eyes shone in the light, Matt had a lot of muscles I spent a lot of time looking at them. Matt was wearing his favourite Brisbane lion's jersey with denim jeans and blue and white thongs.
In the corner of my eye I watched Lara glance around "you know you can settle down with the guardian stuff we are on holidays still, so just chill" I whispered to her. See I Should explain that everybody at this table is a being of the supernatural. Lara is a guardian it's in her nature to protect and guard people or things, some guardians hire themselves out for things like guarding different supernatural beings and then there are guardians like Lara who get the best grades and well get the best Honours, she well be picked to protect very special people to the supernatural world.
