It was morning in the town of Danville, and Perry the Platypus was laying out in the backyard, thinking to himself. Phineas and Ferb were, as usual, working on some God-forsaken contraption that somehow always vanished by the day's end.

Perry lay on his back as he stared up at the clouds. Then, he heard a voice.

"Hi Phineas!"

Perry's heart shook. He looked over and standing on the lawn was a girl with a pink bow and clothes, and long black hair. Perry couldn't help but smile, though he wasn't the one being spoken to.

"What'cha doin?" she asked.

Perry didn't hear Phineas' answer, as he tuned out all other noises as he got up and walked to Isabella. He chattered and smiled up at her.

"Oh, hey, Perry," Phineas said as he picked up his pet.

Perry had a look of disappointment on his face as his owner held him. Phineas was getting in the way. Ferb did, sometimes, but it was more Phineas, all because he was their pet, and they could hold him. All he wanted was Isabella.

Even if the boys didn't get in the way, it wouldn't work because, as fate would have it, she was human, he was platypus. If he carried his wishes out, he'd break about 17 laws of nature.

He sighed, and just stared at the girl.

He finally got an idea in his head, and he smiled to himself. Phineas put him on the ground, and he snuck away, to enter his secret underground lair.

Perry dropped into his secret base, wearing his Secret Agent fedora.

The old man on the large monitor noticed his presence.

"Ah, there you are Agent P. Now, right to business. We received the blueprints for your requested device. But why would you want or need a-"

Perry shushed him.

"Agent P, what are you doing? It's a simple machine. Why can't I say its name?"

"I think he wants to keep the readers in suspense, sir," Carl the intern said from off-camera, to which Perry nodded.

Monogram looked confused, then sighed. "Okay, I'll play along here." He looked up. "Here are your blueprints Agent P."

Perry grabbed the paper out of the side of his chair and ran to his scooter.

Meanwhile, at D.E.I….

Doofenshmirtz was sitting at his table, sipping tea and reading a newspaper.

"Ooh, a pileup! Let's look into that!" he said gleefully, but just as he was about to, Perry fell from above, breaking his table, tearing the paper, spilling the tea, and scaring the living daylights out of Doof.

"Perry the Platypus! Oh, well, first thing's first, sorry about the absence of my evil jingle. I just fired my old singers, and I'm looking for new ones!"

Perry handed him the blueprints. The doctor took the paper and opened it.

"What? You want me to build this?"Dr. D. asked.

Perry put his hands together and shook them in a begging motion, complete with puppy-eyes.

"Ok! I-I've kinda had an… inventor's block, I guess, and well, this should make my day more interesting!"

Doofenshmirtz walked off to begin building Perry's machine, while the platypus beamed with happiness.

A short time later…

Phineas, Ferb, and Isabella were in the Flynn-Fletcher backyard, working on Lord knows what, when a familiar voice came out of the house.

"PHINEAS! FERB!" their sister Candace stormed out of the residence. "I don't know WHAT you're building, but it's annoying, and I don't want you ruining my day! So, you just… dismantle…….. that…………………………………." Candace trailed off when an unfamiliar face walked into the backyard.

The kids turned.

Standing in the gateway was a boy, about their age. He wore a brown hat, and an aqua-green jacket, shirt, and shorts. He had a strange pair of orange shoes. He was grinning at the kids.

"Hey," he spoke. "What's up? The name's Barry."
