The day was perfect.
It was mid-afternoon on Saturday. A steady rain was beating rythmically on the roof. It poured through Tomoeda, dreary and refreshing at the same time. A fire was lit in the fireplace in the living room. It was a nice warm shelter, in contrast to the precipitation. The world's most comfortable chair sat next to it, taking in the cozy heat of the flames. And then... there was the book.
Never Trust an Alien

Naoko couldn't imagine anything greater. There was nothing, nothing more heavenly to her than to curl up with a new novel about paranormal activity. It was very good that the library was now well-stocked with otherworldy encyclopedias (thanks to some slight pushing and protests). And now, as Naoko held the book in her hands and stroked its spine and flipped through its pages, she felt a terribly happy, bubbly feeling swell up inside her. What else can we call this feeling but true love?
Though Chiharu-chan, Rika-chan, Sakura-chan, and even Tomoyo-chan all had their special someones out there, Naoko felt no need for any such person. She had her armchairs, fireplaces, rainy days, and good books, and that was enough for her.
