"Don't lie to me, James," Lily Evans said, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not!" the teen in question exclaimed. "I swear, I'm not hungry, just eat the stuff already, Evans, c'mon!"
The redhead rolled her eyes.
"I'm not going to wither away from starvation on the train ride. I trust you know this?"
"Just eat it," Sirius said, rolling his eyes. "So James can stop fussing over you and I can get on with my life."
"I'm not fussing," protested James. "But she's hungry, and I'm not, so I'm giving her the pumpkin pasty!"
Lily sighed, snatching the snack from the raven-haired boy's hand. He looked very satisfied at the moment.
She chewed on it, smiling at the taste. A loud rumble suddenly filled the compartment, causing everyone within to freeze and look at the perpetrator.
"I was lying! I am hungry!"James moaned.
An awkward moment of silence ensued, after which everyone burst into rounds of giggles.
"Merlin, Potter, I have food with me," Lily teased, waving the half-eaten dessert at him. "You needn't starve!"
He glared playfully at her, reaching for the snack. And so began the great game of Capture the Pasty.
"I changed my mind; I need food!" James whined as he chased Lily down the aisle between compartments.
"No take-backsies!" she called back, laughing.
"Oi! What are we, first years?" Sirius yelled from inside the compartment they had abandoned. "If we are, then count me in!"
Remus's head poked out from around the door.
"Need a hand there, James?" he said, grinning.
Peter stepped out into the danger zone cautiously, running after the girl with the pasty as well. Soon enough, all four Marauders were racing after Lily, and more than one student was cheering her on. They reached a dead end, and the four boys were slowly approaching their target.
Lily looked each one dead in the eye, and her smirk told them all they needed to know.
"No!"James screamed melodramatically, falling to his knees at the sight of his beloved eating his beloved snack.
The criminal rolled her green eyes, and reached into her book bag. Pulling out a bag of more pasties, she threw them at the traumatized boy.
"I told you I didn't need your food," she shrugged in response to their bewildered looks.
