Chapter 1:
"Fred! I thought I told you not to let Scooby into the house!"
"HEY Daphne! No one yells at my Scooby Doo!"
"Who said that he was yours?"
"Well I don't see you taking care of him!"
"But he's a mutt! He is dirty and smelly and has fleas and ticks!"
"HEY! I HAD MY FLEA BATH YESTERDAY!" (In a Scooby Doo voice)
"And he still smells!" (sarcastically)
"I could say the same about you, Miss I-don't-use-deodorant!"
"How do you know that? I mean that's not true!"
Ugh. It's another day in Shakesville. Daphne was, once again, yelling at Fred about Scooby Doo, our puppy. Shaggy always saves Scooby from becoming an outside dog. Anyway, we solve mysteries. We are called Mystery Inc. Today was our day off, or so we thought…
A couple of hours ago, we were sitting on the beach. Daphne was getting a tan, Fred was playing fetch with Scooby, and Shaggy, of course, was at the hot dog bar, filling his stomach. I was on the lookout. I am afraid of the beach. Last year, we were in River Heights. I remember going in the ocean, splashing around, and having a good time, until something moved from under me. I saw an eyeball, staring at me. I immediately ran toward the lifeguard, "Mr. Lifeguard! There is a monster in the ocean! It's a Cyclops! It only has one eye but it has many sharp teeth! Please, please help me!"
"Wait, slow down. Start from the beginning."
"Okay, I was wading in the water, and something brushed up against my leg! I looked down and saw a giant eyeball! And then the THING smiled at me! Its teeth were like razors! Then I ran over here and here I am!"
"You expect me to believe that!"
"WOULD I BE LYING TO YOU?"
" First, tell me your name and your age."
"My name is Velma, and I am almost 18."
"just as I thought, a teenager. You guys are always trying to play tricks on me-"
" I AM NOT PLAYING A TRICK ON YOU! I NEED YOUR HELP!"
"beat it kid! Get away from me!"
"fine! I'll go find someone who believes me! Hmf!"
Ending with that, I left. I actually left the beach! I was that scared! Well I was upset too. That guy was a total jerk! Not to mention dumb! I left to go tell my friends and family, but no one believed me. Some vacation, huh? I intended to solve that mystery.. I would get to the bottom of it once and for all…
This mystery is important to me, because I love water but now I am too scared to go in it! I feel soo embarrassed sometimes. But just my luck, In 3 weeks we will be going back to River Heights. It's for a school trip, and it lasts for only 2 weeks. So if I am planning on getting anywhere with this mystery then I better get as much info as I can! I guess I will have to wait for a while. I'm too stressed to think. Maybe tomorrow. I'm gonna go to bed early! Zzzzzz…(snores)
