Rick smiled as he watched Kate sleep. He smiled as he moved a curl off her face and watched the moon light play off her soft features. He heard the small sniffling from the corner and quickly got out of bed. He smiled at the little girl's bright blue eyes and gently lifted the baby out of the bassinet. He smiled as she settled down in his arms and smiled at him.
"Come on Sonja" Rick said softly "Lets go down stairs and talk about this waking up in the night"
Rick quietly walked down stairs and heated up a bottle before sitting down in the rocking recliner and feeding her.
"I love you baby" Rick said softly "You know your beautiful just like your mother. You were a surprise. That doesn't me we didn't want you, or anything like that. You were a happy surprise. Me and mama got lucky. We wish you would sleep through the night, but we still love you"
"Yes we do" Kate said softly
"We tried not to wake you"
"When my husband leaves my bed I tend to notice. You have an early meeting with Paula. I have Sonja tonight"
"I have her"
"Ok try this again, you meeting with Paula, me day off. You bed now"
Rick smiled as he gently stood up and handed the four month old baby over to his wife. He softly kissed her before walking upstairs. Kate settled in the chair and smiled as she burped the little girl and rocked her back to sleep.
"You have daddy's eyes baby" Kate said softly "His sweet blue eyes. You are beautiful. And you are so perfect. I love every second of the day I get with you. Come on sugar, time for mama to go to sleep"
Kate smiled as she watched her daughter sleep for a few moments. She put the bottle into the sink and carried the little girl up to her bed. Kate laid her down and made sure she was asleep before walking to her bed and gently laying down with Rick. He smiled in his sleep as she snuggled into his arms.
